Some people see a railing. We saw opportunity.
When we built our loft and staircase, we knew we wanted the space to be more than just pretty — we wanted it to be playful. That’s when the idea hit: what if we turned the upstairs railing into a support structure for something fun, functional, and just a little unexpected?
.
Hanging a yoga swing indoors might sound intense, but it’s actually totally doable — and trust us, it’s worth it. We started by making sure our upper railing was solid and secure (safety first!). Then we installed heavy-duty mounting hardware directly into the loft beams, using carabiners and weight-rated straps to suspend the swing from the metal railing above.
The result? A floating yoga setup that’s part home gym, part zen zone, part adult jungle gym. Whether you’re doing inversions, stretches, or just spinning for the fun of it, it brings a whole new energy to the room.
The swing hangs perfectly in the open space below the loft, giving you room to stretch out, swing freely, or even just chill. It adds a playful, almost whimsical touch to the modern design — like the house is saying, “Yes, I’m stylish… but I know how to have a good time too.”
Plus, when it’s not in use, the swing can be easily unclipped or tucked away, so the area stays clean and open.
The yoga swing was never part of the original plan — but now, we can’t imagine the space without it. It’s more than just a workout tool; it’s a mood booster, a conversation piece, and a reminder that your home should feel like you — strong, playful, and a little bit unexpected.
